"Depreciating Values"
At one time, Sylvan Road use to be a decent community with neighbors who knew each other and an area that was well maintained. Those days seem to be long gone. Homes have been replaced by apartments and subsidized housing complexes, that are now run down. Because of this, there is a tremendous amount of transition.and that helps to make the neighborhood less stable as residents are not necessarily committed to maintaining it.
The crime rate has significantly increased, and a number of the apartment units, homes and local shops are now closed or condemned. Some of the older residents still live in the neighborhood, but I'm sure it's nothing like they remember.
