The Dayton Ave area right by the Cathedral in Summit feels a little uncomfortable to me?

Tips, suggestions, lived experiences regarding my perception being off? I'm from a small town in terms of my lived experience. I think my perception might be silly here just because this location is right off the highway, on a hill, and the Cathedral itself is an imposing presence in terms of beautiful architecture. :) I'm not used to that proximity of so many busy and important things right next to each other. Have been looking for apartments in the area and also been looking at Mac-Grove, Highland Park and Merriam Park neighborhoods too. If anyone has any lived experiences of street areas or general suggestions for neighborhoods within this area, please don't hesitate to let me know. Thank you so much! :)

Everyone's perception is different and many people feel very comfortable in the Cathedral Hill area, but given your life experience I would understand that you might be more comfortable in Mac-Groveland and Highland Park.
