Steinway St, Astoria / Long Island City

20th Ave and Steinway Street is pretty much where Steinway begins. Here you can catch the bus (public transportation) for a tour of Steinway in the fullest. From here you can pretty much get off at any stop on this Bus Route and find yourself induldged in eat-in restaurants and fast food for those on the go. After a meal you can entertain yourself with a movie at the Astoria Movie Theater. And on a Friday night you can go out for a dance at the night clubs located throughout Steinway. It's chock-full of fun!

Everyone knows that Astoria is the place to go have fun, and Steinway Street is the best place to start. It is full of clubs and stores to get ready for those clubs. It has amazing food to start off the evening, the best right as you exit the train station. There is a huge party store, in case you want to bring the party home, and great jewelry stores if you feel like splurging.

Steinway Street bisects some major streets in Queens - Astoria Boulevard and Ditmars Boulevard among them. This is a neighborhood of constant change. Some folks refer to parts of Steinway Street as "little Egypt" with all the associated stores and restaurants; but there are also tapas restaurants, Latino "mexicatessans" and just when you think you've seen all there is to see from an ethnic standpoint, here's another Catholic church and rectory, and oh, there's a synagogue!

The street rates very highly with many living here as well as those visiting, evolving into a "destination" for some folks to visit new restaurants just established in Queens. A visit today doesn't mean you've seen all there is to see, because it will be different six months from now. Change is good!

When you enter Steinway Street in Queens you quickly realize that the entire block is self sufficient. If the entire world fell away tomorrow they'd probably survive. The block has everything from eye glass retailers to food and markets for every ethnicity. Arabic, Greek and Asian influences are very strong and great gyros and falafel are never far away.

Any place where you can stop in at a hookah bar then stop for CDs only to finish off your day with great Chinese food or an amazing crepe is great by me. Steinway street is extremely diverse and is a mecca for any true foodie. The shopping is amazing as well, small businesses can be found right next to major chains and overall it's just an awesome place to visit. I love stopping in the small shops to see what interesting finds I will happen upon. It is loud, but that is almost part of the atmosphere.

Steinway Street in Astoria Queens is a mini city within a city. The shopping is very diversified and you can eat your way to heaven just walking down the street.

Such diversity lends itself to the desires of just about everyone. Kids and parents alike love to shop along this strip of shops and food.

Parking may be a bit of a hassle, but take the bus and walk freely - it'll be a day of sheer enjoyment!!

Steinway Street in Queens is perhaps one of the busiest and most diverse places you will ever see. The street is lined by hundreds of stores and restaurants. Major retailers are located next to family-owned businesses that have been around forever. It is a major shopping stop for most people in the borough. Transportation is not a problem in the area with plenty of ways to get around. In terms of food the street encompasses everything from Middle Eastern cuisine, hookah bars, Greek eateries and Chinese food. Don't expect to find a quiet though, it's a loud place. The area is extremely busy with both foot traffic and vehicles.
