"Saint Davids Lane a street that has access to it all"

Saint Davids Lane is a great street whether you are kid or a retiree. I have lived on this street since I was 9 and now I am a proud home owner in my late twenties. Over all the street is clean and well maintained by the local DOT.

What I like about saint davids when I was a kid is that there are a lot of kids around who live off of Saint Davids. There is also a walking trail ran by "Reist Wildlife Sactuary" I have posted a link below. The trail is great during all seasons and hosts many different species of birds and from time to time a wild turkey or deer will pass by.

Saint Davids is a cut through to Route 7 and Consaul Rd. If you have kids the schools are very close being around a 5-10 min drive. I used to ride my bike to Niskayuna High School when I was a kid. The school district puts the bus stops in convenient spots as to keep the kids safe.

Three minutes down the road a new shopping plaza "Mohawk Commons" was just finished which replaced the old Mohawk Mall which became an eye sore during the 90's. "Mohawk Commons has just been completed(some stores are still being built), and stores include a new Marshalls, Price Chopper Market Center, Target, Lowes Home Improvement Center, Party City, Barnes and Noble, Bed Bath and Beyond, Parkway Liqours, Payless Shoes, Supermarket of Shoes, Blockbuster Video, Eastern Mountain Sports, Panera Bread, EB Games, Supercuts, Ruby Teusday, AT&T Wireless, and Cingular Wireless. I regret that I never could go into the old mall, but I'm glad I can experience the new plaza" Cite (http://www.mallhistory.com/Mohawk_Mall_Information.html)

The difficulty of Saint Davids for kids is there are no side walks to ride on and many of the drivers who drive on this road use it as a cut through to Route 7 or Consaul Rd and speed well beyond the posted 35mph. The Niskayuna Police Department do set up speed traps at the intersection with Avon Crest monthly but I have never seen anyone pulled over. Also it would be nice if the town would install street lights as the road can be difficult to drive at night or in poor weather. I have pulled a couple cars out of bottom of a couple turns on this road during snow/ice storms because they were going to fast around the turns and dips Saint Davids has.

Overall Saint Davids is a great street to grow up and to raise kids at.
