"Dorchester, Massachusetts"

In Dorchester, the main street is blue hill ave and Columbia road. You start at grove hall and that is where the supermarket, Dunkin donuts, and CVS is. You go up the street and there is a bunch of apartment buildings. You go up further and there goes stashes, dance studio, the zoo, and all the food places. you can take a right on Columbia road and there goes more apartment building, burger king, and a hall. In any street in Dorchester, there is a bus stop. The buses that go to Dorchester and all around it is the 28, the 22, the 14, and the 16. The perks of going to Dorchester is there are many food places. The food places are the best because you can get Chinese food, Cuban food, Dominican food, Puerto Rican food, pizza, and fries, etc. There are more activities for children and teens than adults. There are many parks that parents can take their kids and many programs they can be placed in.
Pros
  • Varities of food
  • Many programs to attend
  • Many community centers and parks for children to go to.
Cons
  • Nightlife may be a problem sometimes
  • Parking in the winter
  • Sometimes traffic

"An area where it is comfortable to be."

Being in the area of South Dorchester may be a problem sometimes, it is still a decent area to be in. Here, you'll see a lot of community centers, parks, schools, gyms, and businesses. This area may have some problems with the nightlife, but it is still a safe area to be in.

Here you can visit:
- The James Blake House (Oldest House in Boston, 735 Columbia Rd)
- Parks (Ex: Dorchester Park, Franklin Park)
- Franklin Park Zoo

Slang: None really

"South Dorchester is one big mix"

South Dorchester is one of the largest and most diverse neighborhoods in Boston. A big mix of Irish Americans, African Americans, Latinos, gays and working artists make for a real tapestry. The waves of immigrants have kept things interesting with new stores and restaurants, and the face of the area constantly changes and one even finds neighborhoods within neighborhoods there. Dorchester is historic and is home to Boston’s oldest home (1648). Its south side exposure to Boston harbor also makes its green areas and parks popular. Residential and commercial areas are divided enough to make it an area with the best of both worlds.
