"Used to be nice"

We have lived here for 30 years, and when we first moved in, it was a very nice neighborhood. But when they moved in Section 8 housing, and a lot of houses were forclosed or abandoned, the street went steadily downward. There have been numerous fires, crime is out of control, and we do not feel safe anymore.

"A Stain on the Map of Columbus"

This street is awful!!! Hoodlums running around at night everywhere, you have to make sure your car is locked and all valuables are hidden because someone might break into it and steal! Just the other night, someone was arrested in the alley for trying to steal gas. VERY rundown, gross people living on it, and just plain disgusting. If you can, avoid this street AT ALL COSTS!

"Bad Neighborhood Here"

The cost of living in this neighborhood is cheap. But you get what you pay for. The houses look run down and trashy. Crime is very prominent. S Cypress is a one way street. It runs from I-70 on the south end up to W Broad St on the north. 2-5 minute drive to downtown depending on traffic lights and where your going. Lots of traffic lights on W Broad but not much traffic to slow you down. 10 minute drive to the bars and nightlife downtown. 15 minute drive to Ohio State University Campus.

"This Area Would be Better without The losers In the area"

Cypress Ave is on the West Side of Columbus. Just a matter of Mintues from downtown Columbus. The Area was alot better back when I was younger. On a City block with 35 houses back when I was younger all of them were being lived in. But now it's crazy There are 15 empty houses on our block. Which 3 of them were set on Fire.

I know the help is there to help people but we have a few people on the street that have Section 8 ( It where the government pays for them to live in the house) The Police are down the street about 2 times a week. We belive there is a drug house on the next street. You can't have things in your back yard with out having them chained down. Our Gas Grill was stolen out of the yard. At Christmas we had yard things up you know the ones you plug in and they blow up. I left to go shopping at 6:30pm I got back at 9pm and they were all gone.

Don't get me bad the house i'm living in is nice. It's Old it was in a flood back in the early 1900's.

Nightlife I'm sure they have something downtown, or up on campus, Oh Yeah the OSU CAMPUS is also mintues away. Make it great for football seasons. There are great resturants too. close seeing how we are like 5 mintues from downtown.

School not that great, To many student and not enought teachers. The class rooms are over crowded.

We get rats, racoons, possums, stray cats are bad.
