"Nice area to live in for awhile!"

My family and I moved to the Powers corridor by Dublin after the Black Forest Fire. Though we're not big on suburbia, this has been a great place to live. Quiet, no traffic, nice small parks everywhere.
Pros
  • close to shopping
  • little traffic
  • quiet & peaceful
Cons
  • far from any large parks
  • feels like suburbia
  • far from I-25

"A neighborhood made up of mostly single family homes"

I have relatives who live in the Powers neighborhood and have been living there happily for over eight years. They live on a quiet street near the local elementary. The neighborhood is family friendly and many of the families on their block are close and have get togethers or bar-b-ques on the weekend. The local schools are good with a lot of parental involvement.

Overall the neighborhood looks clean, fresh, and well taken care of. The homes and many of the areas are relatively new, so there are no older buildings or run down areas. There are a few businesses and restaurants within the borders, but for the most part it's mainly housing.

This area is so far east that there isn't much traffic at all. One drawback to the roads here is how they fail to plow in a timely fashion. Some of the larger roads (Dublin for one) are getting extended farther east so there will be more access to the neighborhood.

Overall I think this is an excellent neighborhood that I would certainly consider moving to if I were moving to the Springs.
