"Fast Growing Savage"
The city of Savage, which started as trading post and progressed to a railroad and lumber town, is now one of the fastest growing communities in Scott County. The city has a fascinating history which includes a crash landing by Charles Lindbergh before he became famous and the world renowned race horse, Dan Patch, who achieved a world’s record for the mile at the Minnesota State Fair in 1906 and held it for 54 years. The townspeople so loved the horse's owner, they named the city after him.
