"Milford, a country heaven close to New York City."

Milford is a small town on the Delaware River. It is a very safe place to live, it has a great Highschool with awesome facilities. There are a few nice places to eat, The Patisserie is my favorite; they bake amazing breads and pastries everyday and serve a nice lunch. The Hotel Fauchere is a beautiful place to stay and the burgers at Bar Louie are pretty good. The Waterwheel Cafe is ok and affordable. Fretta's Italian Food is a great deli that sells authentic imported Italian food and store made food. The Black Bear Film Festival takes place in Milford every October. In the summer there is a delightful Farmer's Market on Sunday's with high quality organic produce, cheeses, meats and baking goods.
Milford is adjacent to the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area so there are miles of hikes and one can take canoe trips down the river and swim. It's also the home of the Grey Towers National Historic Site, a very pretty place to stroll about with big vistas of the Delaware Highlands.
There is a nice little spa called Badea and Soul where one can get a good massage.
The train to Penn Station in New York takes two hours and departs from nearby Port Jervis. Housing is affordable.
