Mahtomedi is a small town and has a small-town feel within minutes of the cities. The school system is top-notch, in fact, Mahtomedi High School, was named the top school in Minnesota for 2013. Mahtomedi is close to 694/494/36 and is easy to get to from the cities. The Gateway Trail runs near the schools and is a great way to enjoy the outdoors. There is an appreciation for small businesses and family-ran businesses, with some fun restaurants and stores - The Coffee Cottage, Roma's Italian Market, Gordy's Restaurant, the Lakeview Restaurant. A great place to raise a family.
