Farmer's Markets in SF
I know of a few: Mint Plaza (Wed, 10am-2pm), Ferry Building (Tues, Thurs, Sat), Civic Center (Sunday), North Beach (Sunday), Fort Mason (Sunday). Do you know of any others?

Mission has a farmer's market every Thursday evening between 4 and 8 at Bartlett and 22nd. I've not been but I've heard that it is good. I partial to the Berkeley Farmer's Market just because it saves me the trip into the city.

We have a low key Farmer's Market way out here in Orinda. The best Farmer's Market that I have been to was way out in Davis--lot's of selection and they sometimes did it on weeknights durring the summer which was nice because Davis is not the most exciting place in the world so you appreciate every little bit of entertainment.

I know it's out of the way for you SF-ers, but if you ever end up in the North Bay then the Occidental farmer's market is to die for. In addition to the great local produce characteristic of Northern California, they bring in some of the best food vendors I have seen at any farmer's market, period.
My favorites from this week included a Mediterranean vendor with their own homemade pita chips, an Indian stand, and an organic farm that has both meat and veggie options - vegetarian selections include quinoa/garbanzo burgers (cheddar cheese and avocado not included, but a must) and my personal favorite - green chili mac and cheese with a fresh garden salad.
This market happens on Fridays from 4 PM to dusk (head over to Barley & Hops before or after for one of their many Oktoberfest specials this month) and you can probably catch many of the vendors at other SC farmers' markets, listed here:
