Best Spas?

Okay, so I am feeling like a spa slut b/c I've been to The Allison Inn and Spa in Oregon, Miraval Spa in Tucson, and The (I) Spa in SF in the past month. But I'm always looking for new spas, plus my masseuse is traveling for 6 months so, I'll be in need of a new spa until she returns.

The (I) Spa in SOMA had an open house this week which was great. I got a mini massage for free + cocktails and h'or deurves. Plus if you booked a treatment that night for the future, you got $50 off. Worth it!

I've also been to Nob Hill Spa - which as a luxurious sitting area, snacks, pool, the whole 9 yards - you really feel like you are being pampered. And I've been to TruSpa a few times (downtown/NorthBeach/Chinatown area) - also great facials there, but not a great sitting room.

I've also been to the Claremont Spa in Berkely - although it's been about 5 years and the Ritz Carlton spa in Half Moon Bay - also very nice, but not one you can relax and spend all day in.

Anyone been to Elizabeth Arden's Red Door spa? Can anyone recommend any others? I feel like I am on a journey and I'd like your help.
Thanks!

I'll be honest - I've got nothing for you, @Tracypie. I've been to a few spas in Arizona and Thailand while traveling, but nothing local.

If you happen to find any free spas(!!) then let me know...

@StephSF - no free spas, but the whole Spa open house thing is where you can get free mini treatments, cocktails and snacks. Not too shabby and it's totally free. I imagine that all spas have these throughout the year, but this one at I Spa was the first one I had been to. I will be going to more!

My wife went to Changes Salon in Walnut Creek a few times and she was very happy with it; but I really don't know anything about Spas. I doubt that it is any better than what you can find in the City though it is in a nice little spot right around the corner from a couple of really nice Italian restaurants.

@NightOwInOrinda - thanks! I'm actually going to Walnut Creek today to get my hair cut (I know, why I travel 45 minutes over the bridge is a discussion I have with my husband all the time). So I will check it out.

Oooh, I like the idea of the spa open house! I'll have to look into that more. How did find your hairdresser? This is a constant struggle for me, given how much I move around, and as a result I often have split ends that go unmanaged for months on end.

I found my hairdresser through a friend's sister. I used to do highlights a long time ago, now I'm just covering up gray. Anyway, her hair looked great every time so I asked her who she went to and how much it was and she recommended this girl. I couldn't be happier. $80 cut and color for a tiny trip over the bridge. Not too shabby and there's never traffic on Saturday morning or afternoon.

Wow, what a deal! The toll pays for itself. I have gone off of referrals many times but no one seem to know me, and my hair, quite like Susan in Manchester, CT. Well done on the good find.
