"Just a golf course in a noisy area"

Although I’ve never been in the San Francisco Golf Course myself, I pass by it very often while heading to relatives or towards shopping centers. The thing about this golf course is the location. The location is all that great if you want a quiet game of golf. Like most of San Francisco, there’s never really any peace and quiet where you go, since it’s a bustling city environment. However, this area specifically is one of San Francisco’s busiest area, this is mostly due to commuters going to work on the weekends, and on the weekends, lots and lots of people go out shopping and doing fun stuff outside of San Francisco. Thus, Junipero Serra Boulevard is used a lot to get to such places. The San Francisco Golf Club also runs along Brotherhood Way, and in between this street and the golf course is a strip of religious churches or temples. I’ve always passed by them but never really knew if they were from one congregation or not, but I believe they are of all different religions. Most of the time when I pass by these churches, the parking lot is empty, which would mean the church inside is empty.

"Golf and Fishing Anyone?"

Even if you don't golf, you can still enjoy this neighborhood. Lake Merced is smack dab in the middle of three different golf courses, including San Francisco Golf Course. The lake is freshwater and fed by an underground spring and there is active recreational fishing here - so get your pole.

A lot of trees and greenery make this community a great place to walk, jog, and bicycle. So many paths around the golf course as well as the lake, make for an enjoyable and relaxing ride. Be sure to take your dog or a friend, as some of the trails get a bit quiet.

Also nearby are Lowell High School and San Francisco State University.

One piece of advice, don't park your car by the lake next to SFSU at night - have seen many a car broken into.

"Drivers -- Be Aware!"

If you've ever driven around Lake Merced in the summer time with any sort of regularity, you're sure to see some action by the Golf Course. This part of town is dotted with traffic all around it and is a little bit of a mess to get through on weekends -- especially during the day, though it's a breeze at night.

I'm not a golfer myself, so I can't speak to the actual golf course. But that doesn't stop me from enjoying bike rides around this area, appreciating the wider lanes and the beauty of Lake Merced on the north west side of this neighborhood.
