Should any parts of Roosevelt Island in New York City be avoided more than others?

Roosevelt Island is quite small and very sleepy. No part needs to be avoided any more than the other (although the abandoned asylum is creepy if you need to avoid ghost type thingys). You can walk from top to bottom of Roosevelt rather quickly.
