"Romeo is not far from New Mexico"

Romeo is a very small dusty town in SW Colorado not far north of the Colorado/New Mexico border. This is a poor community and as you drive through you have missed it! Alamosa to the north is where those from Romeo can shop and visit a restaurant. Most of the residents work in the area and there are ranches and some farming in the area.
Cons
  • high poverty rate
  • no amenities
  • remote

"oh Romeo, how do I avoid thee..."

Sorry Romeo but you are the town for me nor anyone else looking to settle in a nice Colorado town. Dry dusty winters and summers and a rough crowd from what I've noticed. There is not much work here and I do hope that things look up for dear Romeo in the near future.

"A small town with a small amount of options"

Romeo is a small quiet little town just north of the New Mexico border. This town of only 404 residents has a high percentage of Hispanic population, coming in at almost 80%. The median household income here is only $23,004 which is well below the median for the state. Because of the low incomes here, over 56% of the residents are below the poverty rate. Of the men who have jobs the majority work in carpentry or as truck drivers, while the majority of the women here work in education. Homes here go for an average of $77,028, also considerably lower than the state average.

There isn't much to Romeo, with the exception of a few buildings and grain elevators. There is a meat processing plant, a liquor store, and a small pharmacy, but no restaurants or shopping. The nearest town is Alamosa, which is about 25 minutes north and has just under 9,000 residents so there are more options for buying goods and eating here.
Cons
  • remote
  • high poverty rate
  • no amenities
