"Residential street full of college students "
I wouldn't recommend this street unless you are a college student. A lot of UC San Diego students live in the apartment complexes on this street. The parking can get pretty crazy on the weekends. It's a great place to live if you want to be close to the campus and all of its perks. The beach, parks and the Underwater Park is nearby. There are a bunch of restaurants in the area and it's a pretty safe street.
