"Nice and Friendly"

The neighborhood of Red Oak Road Northwest is very typical of many neighborhoods in the southwestern section of Atlanta Georgia. The neighborhood is well established, and most if not all residents have called Red Oak home for many years. You can tell that the families here take pride in their homes, neighborhood and community because of how nicely everything is maintained.

Because residents of Red Oak tend to stay for a while, there is not a lot of transition in the community. There are great schools within reasonable proximity and school buses come in and out of the neighborhood to make sure children have safe and consistent transportation to and from school. Just like most areas in the southern section of Atlanta, there are plenty of trees to provide some shade on blistering hot summer days. There are park and recreational activities available to the residents of Red Oak Road as well.

This is a family centered community and young professionals, retirees, and singles would do well here; as long as they are not looking for a lot of nighttime action. But that's what the city is for, right?
Pros
  • family focused and friendly
  • established and nicely maintained
Cons
  • not close to major retail shopping
  • quite a bit of a drive to major interstates
Recommended for
  • Professionals
  • Singles
  • Families with kids
  • Retirees
