For the South Side Pullman is very nice and safe. There are some worse neighborhoods nearby, but Pullman itself is higher quality. It is pretty historic, and the home prices are good, so not a lot of problems. It is sorta far south though, so if you're looking for the excitement of the city it's a ways away.

Pullman was originally created to house employees of the George Pullman's rail-car company. Today the exterior of these historic homes remain largely unchanged.

This town is very easy going. People here are friendly and the neighborhood is historically beautiful while remaining quiet and tranquil in the city. Everyone here cares about their homes and you can expect to see beautiful gardens and wonderfully maintained historic buildings.

There are two playgrounds in the neighborhood as well. The town is very walkable and every October their is a House Tour - where visitors can walk the town and learn about and see all the beautiful historic homes.

In Pullman you get small town friendliness while living in the big city.
