What’s with the bike lane on Portola Dr?

Cars use bike lane more often than bikes. No one obeys the driving laws of a bike lane & it's outright dangerous at rush hour

Oh yeah, the Portala Bicycle Lane was all part of this 2005 plan to add like 50 miles of bicycle lanes throughout the city--hoping that we would become like the Netherlands and all take to our bikes instead of our cars--very popular among the whole Critical Mass crowd that blocks the Bay Bridge every few months. Of course, it is only time before Rush Limbaugh puts it up as an example of another "failed liberal brain fart." On the other hand, what better way to risk your life than while zigzagging through traffic as if you were Puck with important package to deliver. (Okay, that allusion would really have killed circa 1995 and you know it.)

That sounds pretty bad. Where is it. I haven't been on Portola in forever and I don't even remember a bike lane. Is it by the high school like they have on the map?
