"Nice Rural Community Close To Powell Butte Nature Park"

Pleasant Valley is located in SE Portland and is home to those that are looking for affordable housing set in a rural setting, yet close to neighboring communities for shopping and entertainment. This suburb is popular for its proximity to Powell Butte Nature Park, which is over 600 acres and offers incredible nature trails.

People who are interested in Pleasant Valley tend to be those that love the outdoors and don’t want to live in neighborhoods where homes are on top of each other. With plenty of room to roam, Pleasant Valley is also home to a portion of Springwater Corridor, a walking and biking trail that travels to all over Oregon. Eastridge City Park is a popular neighborhood park that includes a basketball court, playground and picnic areas.

This is a very nice residential community whose residents appreciate the great outdoors and the beauty of the natural parks that Portland offers.

"Gorgeous Area that is Home to Powell Butte Nature Park"

Pleasant Valley is really pretty much what the name might indicate... it is indeed pleasant. One great thing about this area is that it is near a lot of green space. In fact, Powell Butte Nature Park is just a short drive North. This park is huge at over 600 acres! It has many nature trails and stunning mountain views. It is great for those who love the outdoors including hikers, mountain bikers and horseback riders. You can see a variety of interesting wildlife in this park as well including bats, rabbits, and coyotes.

Pleasant Valley tends to be on the pricey side. This is in part due to the nice big homes, but it is undoubtedly also because of the proximity to this amazing park. In addition to Powell Butte Nature Park you can also find Clatsop Butte Park and Eastridge Park in this area. Another very interesting plus for Pleasant Valley is that Springwater Corridor runs through it. This route was once a rail corridor. This scenic trail goes all the way to Boring, Oregon! You see hikers, strollers and also bicycles as well as a lot of interesting wildlife.

"Quiet, Family-Focused Neighborhood With Lush Green Parks"

East Portland's Pleasant Valley is a quiet, family friendly neighborhood with well-kept homes tucked around amazing parks, making it ideal for parents looking for a spot to raise their kids with easy access to the outdoors.

Pleasant Valley offers plenty of lush green spaces. Depending on how you define the borders of the neighborhood, Powell Butte Nature Park either falls in Pleasant Valley or in neighboring Powellhurst Gilbert.

Leach Botanical Garden and the Lakeside Gardens, two of the city's most unique parks, are located within the Pleasant Valley neighborhood. Both are amazing places to spend a quiet afternoon. On summer weekends, there are nearly always weddings happening at both locations, which offer picturesque backdrops for any special occasion. Pleasant Valley also has Springwater Corridor, part of the 40-mile loop for bikers and joggers, a very popular way to commute throughout Portland.

There's a Fred Meyer at the north end of the neighborhood, and a few scattered stores and services in the rest of the neighborhood. There is also easy access to major roads including I-205.

Typical residents are professional couples in their 40s with kids. There is also a sizable population of retirees here. Other than that, however, Pleasant Valley doesn't seem to be too diverse. Homes tend to be newer than in many other areas of Portland, and they tend to be expensive.
