What is the best city to move to between Philadelphia and Atlantic City?

Moving from out of state, don't know the area well at all and we won't have time to travel there to check it out before our move as I'm 4 months pregnant and we are waiting until the baby is born to move. We will be renting a house for a few years while my husband goes to school. I need advise as to a family friendly, cool, area to live in between Philadelphia and Atlantic City (as we would be commuting to both).
