"Up and down a hill"

Parnassus Avenue is all a hill, starting at Judah Street Parnassus Avenue goes uphill and through the heart of UCSF. As Judah Street transitions into Parnassus Avenue, you can see a great view of the Sunset District. Although it may not be much, it is still a spectacular view. But Parnassus Avenue starts to go on a downhill slope once you pass the UCSF campus. There are also MUNI stops every block (if not every other block). The street is usually busy, but only during the day because of students and alike, since it is also a university, as well as a hospital, clinic, etc. all combined into one campus. There are a few places to eat here, but mainly the indoor food court that serves mostly fast food type meals.

"Prepare for a good hike up a hill"

Parnassus is the home of the well known University of California San Francisco. Heading east, Parnassus would slope up. The streets are filled with students, patients and visitors alike. Starting your journey at the bottom of the hill, you would notice houses to both right and left of the street. Once at the hill top however, one would see the hospital as well as a café. Of course, walking is not the only source of transportation, bus lines 6 and 43 can bring you right to the entrance of the campus. The N metro line can bring you to Irving Street, where you can get off and take an elevator to Parnassus.

"This is UCSF territory"

Parnassus is located in the Inner Sunset on the south side of Golden Gate Park. It loops gently over a very steep hill, and gradually tapers off into Judah. At the crest of the hill is the huge UCSF complex, which is a teaching hospital and clinic. There are a few retail establishments here -- on the Stanyan side, there is a pizzeria and flower shop, and on the other side of the hill there are a handful of restaurants, mostly ethnic, but all of them are pretty good. The 6 Parnassus runs along this street, which can take you into the Financial District. In the other direction, it leads out to 14th Avenue.

"Always busy, compacted area with amazing views."

Parnassus Avenue is located in the Inner Sunset/Haight and Ashbury districts. It is what Judah lead into starting from around 5th avenue. It runs up the hill all the way to UCSF hospital and ends at Stanyan Street. You can find some really beautiful houses off this street. The views are amazing from here. There are bus lines all over this area. There are many hills in this area so if you have any knee problems or do not like to walk up and down hills this would not be the area for you. It is a very convenient street. Across the street from the hospital there are some fast food places for a quick bite and of course, the hospital is right there. This would be an ideal place for nurses to have apartments or for families that have children.
