Hi Wteague,
'Fraid I can't tell you how it is now, but I'd be happy to tell you what it was like growin'up as a kid in the 50's &60's if you'd be interested. I grew up in the house located at 1648 Great Highway, S.F., CA. (search for address for pictures of the house) between Lawton & Moraga - the last street in "THE CITY" before you hit the Pacific Ocean!
Good Luck & "KEEP ON TRUCKIN'!!"

Outer Sunset in San Francisco is one of the better more affordable places for families with kids in San Francisco. It has solid schools and lower levels of crime than a lot of other places in SF. One of the problems though is that if you have a more than a couple of kids it might be hard to find home that works for you. Most homes here are on the smaller side and tend not to have a lot of distance from other nearby homes, so it is almost like living in an apartment setting, where you have to worry about noise and similar problems.
