"Good Stretch of Coastal Highway"
This is a great place to experience coastal driving without having to go out of your way. Pacifica, located just outside of San Francisco, is a beach town with city access, and the 1 runs right along the coast in this small but desirable town. The views are stunning, although the water offers its fair share of sharks and hypothermic temperatures. It's probably better to stay outside.
The one downside is that it is close to the city, so the remote nature of the 1 is not really something that you can experience as much here, but there are a few cliff turns and enough twists to make your stomach drop and remind you that you are on a curvy, scenic California road.
