"Always growing, NW Rochester is a great area in Rochester to find your new home!"

Northwest Rochester is expanding at a fast rate. Whether it is commercial or residential, both seem to be emerging farther on this side of town. With current businesses along with newly constructed buldings, there is plenty of options for shopping, dining, and activities for those who live in the NW area. Homes are being constructed at a fast rate and new neighborhoods are starting their future. One of the newly constructed neighborhoods is also located next to a fairly new elementary school, George Gibbs. Overall, NW Rochester is a great place and with its never ending expansion, there is a lot of opportunity here for home buyers.
Pros
  • Expansion!
  • Newer Homes
  • Shops, Restaurants, & Groceries
Cons
  • A decent communte to downtown from some places

"NW Rochester... the future of Rochester"

The NW end of Rochester is the main point of expansion for our quaint city of Rochester in its attempt to grow and expand to become an even bigger and better city. New construction in the last few years has re-emerged from the depths of the collapse in 2008. Those builders that were able to survive the hard times are now reaping the benefits. NW Rochester has developed a stigma of being the future of Rochester's expansion, and that is true. New businesses are popping up all over, especially on West Circle Dr. NW Rochester offer many commuting options for Mayo employees and you will also find many IBMers calling NW Rochester home. Maybe it is the closer proximity to the Twin Cities? Jumping on Highway 52 you only have about an hour to downtown Minneapolis or just a little less to downtown St. Paul. With all of the excitement about this new DMC era that is approaching quickly, it seems to be inevitable that Rochester will continue to move towards the Twin Cities.
Pros
  • Shops, Restaurants, & Groceries
  • Newer Homes
  • Expansion!
Cons
  • Traffic can be busy at times
  • A decent communte to downtown from some places
