"Best of Both Worlds"

Many people feel conflicted if they want the true feeling of big city living or the comfort of suburban neighborhood living....and this is the best of both worlds! This is an area that used to be a well kept secret but is catching on for those that want something right in the middle.

You are right in the midst of the city and though you may be surrounded by some less desirable locations, you have a great little find here. The houses are well kept and beautiful, there are parks nearby, and yet you are still close to all of the convenience and amenities that the downtown area has to offer. A true find for those that want it all!

Many families with children are moving here as they find the cost of living appealing and yet feel safe raising their children here. You will be happy with the fact that it's accessible since it's right near a major expressway and a major road in Grand River. You can easily get to this part of town and it's easy enough to get around when you are there.

You have some good restaurants nearby, you don't have to travel far to get to anything, and overall this is a great part of town with everything that you need. This is what a neighborhood is all about, particularly within a big city where it can sometimes get a little isolated. You will feel part of a great community and like everything about this part of town!

"North Rosedale – Focusing on Community Involvement"

Unlike other Detroit neighborhoods you certainly do not receive any extended and intimidating stares as you stroll through North Rosedale, nor do you feel as though you have to watch your back. This neighborhood may be in the city but it definitely offers a suburb feeling.

This is the type of neighborhood where you can move to raise a family, and then enjoy your grandchildren coming back to visit decades later. There is a private community house, tree-laden sidewalks, beautiful brick homes and a 4-acre park to enjoy; not a bad place to call home! There is even a community calendar full of general meetings, Girl Scouts events and more. Residents here watch out for one another, plant trees and take pride in their community.

North Rosedale has been voted as one of Detroit’s most family friendly areas. This is the type of area where kids in the neighborhood can grow up together and parents get involved.

If you need public transportation, you can catch a bus on Grand River, Southfield or McNichols. Of course, due to the great location, you can work downtown or the suburbs and be there rather quickly, as you are close by I-96 and I-696.

"One of the nice neighborhoods on the west side"

My one friend who thinks he is a lady's man met a girl and her sister who lived in North Rosedale Park. I have been over theoir house on a few occasions, and this is a really nice neighborhood.

One of the things that I notice that sets apart good neighborhoods from the bad ones are neighborhood associations. Neighborhood associations keep crime down and property values up. This one had a pretty strong association, as I heard the girls' mother was a member of it.

The houses in this neighborhood looked very nice, red brick and expensive. There was a bit of classic architecture here as well in some of the streets as well. The girls lived on Glastonbury I think. Nice green lawns, and well taken care of gardens were everywhere. You certainly didn't feel like you were going to get mugged around here.

There is also plenty of retail outlets along Grand River and McNichols, so you don't have to travel very far for those. Overall this is definitely a neighborhood I would consider if I had to move back to Detroit.

The neighborhood borders main streets like Grand River, McNichols, and Southfield. There was public transportation, but most of the residents here looked affluent and owned cars.
