North Oconto Ave, Norwood Park

The N. Oconto neighborhood in Chicago is the proto-typical city neighborhood that runs basically parallel to Harlem Ave. Tree surrounded single family homes with the scattered apartments here or there line frequently speed-bumped streets. Classier near the Edison Park and Park Ridge areas while a little rough around the edges as one gets closer to Elmwood Park, Oconto is conveniently located close to major streets and highways such as Addison Ave., Forest Preserve Dr., and the Kennedy Expressway.

Also conveniently located near the street are many recreational opportunities. Including, the Harlem and Irving Plaza, one of the premier shopping centers on the North Side of Chicago. Ice cream shops as well as fast food restaurants, pizzerias, and fine dining are always a short drive away.

Schools in the area include St. Patrick and Resurrection High Schools, Immaculate Conception and James Giles Grammar Schools, as well as Wright College. Well known Chicago parks including Oriole, Shabbona, and Hiawatha are walking distance from this street, depending on where one lives.

The N. Oconto block of Chicago is neither the classiest nor the fanciest neighborhood in the city but it is in the midst of a vibrant and thriving community and will certainly not disappoint anyone who decides to live there.
