North Center is pretty nice overall. It's safe enough, and there's a fair bit to do without it being crazy busy or loud. There are plenty of public transportation options available, and you can usually find some fun things to do. Families would like it too.

North Center is a pretty eclectic area, with lots of quiet residential streets, family-friendly areas, and easy access to entertainment/restaurants, etc. It's a great neighborhood for families and singles, and it is easily commutable to downtown or suburbs.
