"Great food and nightlife!"
Spring Garden street, near Old City is a great place for incredible food and clubs. Silk City is probably my favorite, both a diner and a nightclub, this place has the best DJ's (especially on Thursday night). The food is not your usual diner grub, its amazing! A short walk down Spring Garden and you come across Transit nightclub and Palmers, both are Philadelphia hot spots.

""State" of the union"
The intersection of Spring Garden and Broad Street is where the hub of the state government in Philadelphia takes place. The State Office Building resides at this intersection. If you don't have the need for state services, you won't know where this is. However, if you do....you will know where to go to get the services you need. The bonus about this intersection is that the number of people who work in the state office building brings much revenue to those who sell food and items at this corner of the world.

"Don't Go Down the Side Streets"
Spring Garden St. is best known for being the location of Philadelphia Community College. The street iself is not bad at all, it has excellent access to public transportation.
The side streets are another story. The second that you turn off Spring Garden St, you are in some residential areas where there are many abandonded houses. It is not a good idea to leave your car there for a long period of time, it will not have hubcaps or wheels on it when you return.
The police presense is quite good however, and Spring Garden is a wide, not heavily trafficed street, except at rush hour.
