North 16th St, North Division

I lived on N 16th St at State St for one year. This was while I was a student at Marquette University. I lived in an apartment that was decent, but had an occasional cockroach. The gas station that we could see through the window at the back of the apartment had heavy security due to the somewhat unsafe nature of the the neighborhood. We could occasionally hear gun shots. The streets were not particularly clean. However, there was excellent access to the bus routes and I used the city bus to get to work. The University was there providing a great college education, but the elementary, middle, and high schools used by the families nearby were not so good. It was an okay place to live while going to school but I don't recommend living there long term
