I love Hell's Kitchen for its fabulous restaurants like Taboon( Mediterranean) on 10th avenue and 52nd Street, Bali Nusa Indah(Indonesian) 9th avenue between 45th and 46th street, Pam Real Thai 49th Street between 9th and 10th Avenues and Eatery which is on 9th Avenue and 53rd street. I also make it a point to also visit Hell's Kitchen every year during its annual Ninth Avenue International Food Festival which takes place on the first weekend after Mothers Day and features a whole host of food vendors as well as interesting live entertainment.

Wow. What experiences. Wouldn't you like to harness those. Maybe I'll check out the area after Mother's Day. I sure do love good food and live entertainment.

HK is here too; great atmosphere and one of those rare bottomless brunch places that also has great service.

Hell's Kitchen isn't as bad as the name would suggest (that said, I would never take to calling it "Clinton." That's just stupid). I do love the food, especially that great jambalaya place on 48th street and 9th or 10th avenues (the one advertising Po'boys on the marquee) - and the environment is surprisingly laid-back for New York.Plus, I love being near the West Side bike path/piers. The Intrepid Museum on 47th street in the river is a great place for military historians or anyone interested in the space race/submarines/cool military things (read: most boys). Managed to find an ideal Christmas present for my grandfather there - I imagine the gift shop(which isnt just restricted to stuff to do with the Intrepid proper) is useful for the many of us with parents/grandparents who fought in WWII, Vietnam, Korea, etc. and still have such strong memories of the era.

Hi Ajadedidealist. Thanks for your post. I enjoyed reading it. I also agree with the Intrepid Museum. I was really amazed by what I saw when I went my first time recently. A lot of history. It was educational.

I lived in Hell's Kitchen for a few years.. Great place. Like Brooklyn only in Manhattan.. small restaurants.. bars, cafes.. hospital and grocery stores nearby.. of course, great access to transportation with the Port Authority a few blocks away as well as all major train lines. You can't beat it. Check out Restaurant Row on West 46th and of course, one of my favorite places to eat for Spanish food, El Deportivo, on Ninth Avenue.

@Uraniumfish Sounds like an American Apparel gone worse. Or a shop of super hero wear.
But actually... it's a fashion district fabric shop?
