Wow, NYC is like a trophy wife, all the biggies in the world of business want to have a foothold here. However apart from these mega deals is the market recovering somewhat?I havent been keeping a track but its good to know in case we decide to sell our apartment and stay on here.(highly unlikely but fears of a double dip could compel us)

@Uraniumfish Oh, if it isn't that Swedish porn star again! Good posting; I love the high drama that is the world of NYC real estate.

@BroadwayBK I know! I couldn't believe that guy came up again. Really, it's a world made up of only like 20 key people. High drama indeed.

@BroadwayBK and Uraniumfish: Perhaps that Swedish-born guy is the only one making money in real estate in this city. Or at least he is within the top 5.

Loooove real estate dramas! However, in this article I actually enjoyed reading about Selldorf's latest project more! I guess I'm really and architecture geek.

With the economy picking up a bit, I wonder if the real estate market will also pick up. If it does, this may mean good times for real estate brokers and agents.

@Everyone here's another mad NY real estate story- The Sheffield a new luxury condo development on the UWS has now partnered with Saks Fifth Avenue to provide closet consultations to its prospective clients.. only in NYC I say.. http://www.dnainfo.com/20110110/manhattan/walkin-closets-not-enough-luxury-condo-brings-saks-consultants

@uptowngirl That's crazy - especially the history of the Sheffield building. I know I shouldn't be shocked that a developer hired a marching band to drown out the sound of protesters, but I am! I guess these days you have to stage surprise protests in order to be heard!

@uptowngirl So the Fifth Ave Club comes into your home to evaluate what you have in your closet?! I feel uncomfortable at the mere thought of having one of those fashion people in my closet. Not that I doubt my own taste - I am just creeped out by that set.

@Uptowngirl: Wow, private closet consultations. You'd be surprised what people have in their closets. That would make a great movie. Open the closet door and a creature comes out and devours the person.

@Uraniumfish: Oh, wo is me. You're funny. :) I'm glad I'm organized. Every time the closet gets messy, I come along and get it straight again.

@BroadwayBk Seems like the Sheffield is looking for overseas buyers..received a flier in my mail box yesterday that was advertising sales at the Sheffield and seemed to be specifically targeting Chinese buyers for one of the blurbs proclaimed that NYC has the largest Chinese population in the US which numbers at 370,000 Chinese people. There was no pitch about Saks Fifth Avenue club though..

@Uptowngirl: That is an interesting flier you got. I didn't know NYC had that many Chinese people.
