"Mundane residential aesthetics"
Mayfair Village Town of Baden, which is quite a handful to say, isn’t much of a community. It is made up of lower middle-class aesthetics and unpleasant commercial quarters. Yet, what it lacks in suburban bliss, it makes up for in location. The district is centrally located along the San Francisco peninsula and within close proximity to the San Francisco International Airport, the San Francisco Bay and the vast Pacific Ocean. It is also packed within the busy suburbs of South San Francisco and within a few minutes of Daly City.
Mayfair Village Town of Baden is almost exclusively residential. Unfortunately, the district encompasses about a dozen neighborhood blocks of suburban anonymity. The area is overrun by small, block-like houses nestled closely together. They are somewhat pleasant residences, but commonly one-story in size. Moreover, these houses are plotted on petite properties and afforded only small, shallow yards (think little patches of grass as front lawns).
Southwood Shopping Center and Brentwood Shopping Center are the two closest shopping hubs. Both are outfitted with a CVS and a couple small chain stores and boutiques, but lacking any sense of charm or glamour. Elsewhere, Orange Memorial Park anchors the northern edge of Mayfair Village while San Bruno Bart Station lies a couple blocks south of the neighborhood. For younger families, South San Francisco High School lies within the district’s limits. According to greatschools.org, it records above average test scores and garnered a 4-out-of-5 stars review.

"typical SSF living"
Overall quiet residential neighborhood. Lots of rolling hills. Lots of houses closely packed in, though lot sizes are larger than other northern SF areas. Some duplexes. Safe neighborhood. Parking is aplenty. SSF high school is smack in the middle of this neighborhood. Very good football and track field, and plenty of tennis courts. Mall at Tanforan is to the south and is a typical mall. There is a BJ's restaurant there that serves up pretty good food and has a big beer selection on tap. The mall is also toddler friendly, with a walled off area full of toy statues and indoor jungle gym for the infants and toddlers and padded benches for the weary parents. BART is fairly close. Just to the east is the industrial heart of SSF where biotech giants Amgen and Genentech reside.

"Close to Everything"
There is nothing really special in this neighborhood, but it's close to a lot of things! Surrounding the area is lots of shopping malls and centers, streets full of shops and boutiques, and further down south is a BART station. I would say the most convenient form of travel here is the car and then the second is the BART. Funny enough, its even close to a very big cemetery.
I have been here in the area looking at real estate before. The houses in this area seems mid-ranged in size and age. I saw a lot of Victorian style house too. It's an alright place to live in, and the prices compared to San Francisco is a lot cheaper. If you work at Tanforan Shopping center or Serramonte, its a pretty nice place to live, and its close to work.
