"Close to major roads and actual yards."

Resting just outside of Falls Church City, Marshall St, is a link between Lee Hwy (Rte. 29) and Arlington Blvd. (Rte. 50). With close access to both I-495 and I-66, it is only a few minutes to all major highways in Northern Virginia and within 5 miles of DC. But be warned, the highways and connection routes are routinely clogged during the work week as the DC area as a whole has a lot of traffic. Being close to Arlington Blvd, it is common to see many bus commuters walking the streets during all times of the day as there is easy access to bus lines if you live on the edges. If you do not, it is a hike to the closest stop.

Another bad thing about the street is the closeness to off street housing that is falling apart and a drag on the local area. The houses on Marshall are mostly (90%) high-end brick colonials that have decent sized yards. But, close houses are small ranches that are constantly over-run with poor yard maintenance and 5 or 6 cars in the driveway or on the street.

While the school system in our area is supposedly poor, I have no experience (or children). More and more families are moving in the area in an attempt to update the residents. (There is still a large group of individuals that are original owners when the houses were built in the '40s and '50s.) The street it's self has nothing but families and dogs walking the side walks daily to get exercise and the park that is in the middle of the street. As a whole, being close to Tyson's Corner, Arlington, DC, and Merrifield, this small part of Fairfax is hard to get into and hard to leave.
