Have you been there? Those burgers kind of look amazing at the moment.... And you're right about the "only in New York" bit. We are all up in each other's bizness, probably for lack of personal space.

I love how passionate your average citizen will get over such things. Who said New Yorkers don't have enough time to get involved. Seems like they're going to community hearings in droves.

Has anyone ever gone to a community board meeting, by the way?

I used to attend community board meetings once in a while. Admittedly it's been a while since I did, and now that I've moved recently I haven't gotten around to getting acquainted with my new neighborhood just yet. But now that I think about it, moving to a new neighborhood is a very good reason to start going again, to get to know the 'hood and its issues better. Okay, something to do in the next month or two.

Never been, although I do go to the occasional co-op board in my building. Alas, unlike what Gossip Girl would have you think, they don't take place in Park Avenue Winter...
