If I actually lived in one the buildings mentioned in the article, the Atlas on W38th which has featured on Project Runway. My brother used to rent there before he moved to Brooklyn and this was in 2002/2003 when Project Runway was not launched yet I think. The Atlas is perfectly nice building not especially lovely or anything but it does have the nicest staff, the doormen recognize and acknowledge me even now though I stayed thereonly for a couple of months way back in 2003 and 2004.

I don't purchase things based on what other people say or do. I purchase them because I love it or need it. So even if there is a reality TV show about a building in Manhattan, it won't stir in me the will to buy it, even if I did have the money to.

@hhusted me too that's why I can't help wondering at people who do get affected enough to let reality TV affect their accommodation choices ..truly bizarre or mad.

@Uraniumfish: I have news for you. People in general are brainwashed by what is on TV.

I can't afford to purchase real estate shown on reality TV. @uptowngirl Perhaps I'm dying a slow death with you, but I mostly view reality television as comedy.

@BroadwayBk So true, I watch reality TV purely for the entertainment factor and to take my mind off what's there out in the world. I wouldn't make any decisions based on reality TV! that's madness but it goes to show how people get affected by it!

I think I would avoid reality show places like the plague. Most people on reality shows are two tacos short of a full plate. I don't want that crap as my neighbor. And West 38th? Yikes!

@JenMac LOL, yes agreed not much of a neighborhood, garment showrooms and nothing else not even a grocery store but then it was close to work and he as a single guy didnt really care. Now he lives in Brooklyn with his partner and has a dog and everything.
