New Yorkers and their guns

I would just be so scared that I would accidentally fire it and do some serious damage.

I wouldn't mind having one, but I couldn't really picture myself using it anywhere besides the Westside Range....

Now, see, the thought of guns in a place as dangerous and psychosis-prone as NYC is a very frightening proposition.

I don't understand how blase we Americans are about gun use - especially given that most developed countries (ie, the UK) outright ban their use - and with good reason! It's hard enough stopping a crazy person with a knife, let alone with a gun, not to mention plenty of "sane" people who lose their cool, accidentally fire guns without meaning to, or get themselves killed by trying to pull a gun on an armed intruder when just staying put might have been a whole lot safer...
