Most annoying New Yorker
I think we should also have a most annoying New Yorker thread, as a complement to the My Favorite New Yorker Thread. And I think Yoko belongs in this one:

Word, @uraniumfish. I think I'll also be a bit more controversial and add Giuiliani to the list - profiting off a city's (and nation's) tragedy, cheapening it for personal gain - not cool!

Both of those are classic annoying New Yorkers.
My first thought was Paris Hilton, but we don't seem to be hearing as much from her these days. Though she did have that terrible reality television show on MTV.
Scarlett Johansson does a great job of annoying me with her album of Tom Waits covers. Seriously, who thought that would be a good idea?
Apparently NY Mag finds the cavemen to be the city's most annoying hipsters: http://nymag.com/daily/intel/2010/01/meet_the_cavemen_new_yorks_mos.html
For you all that don't know, we had an earlier forum topic on these delightful dieting souls: http://www.streetadvisor.com/new_york/forums/cavemen-in-new-york-city

The only annoying New Yorker for me right now, is my next door neighbor. He invites his boyfriend over. There's nothing wrong with that. But I am against people waking me up at 3am, with loud music, talking, followed by you know what.
@Ajadedidealist: I agree with your choice. I wonder how the guy can sleep at night knowing what he did.
Anyone know of other New Yorkers that annoy them.

I can't even hear car alarms anymore. I live by the JMZ elevated line, and whenever a train goes by it sets off the alarms of all the cars parked under the tracks. I've probably mentioned this before, but it all sounds like white noise to me these days.

@Everybody I think we should add Richard 'Dick' Fuld to the list , this guy was the former CEO of Lehman Brothers and in a way responsible for its demise and the huge financial mess that followed. CNBC actually called him the worst American CEO of all time who was unrepentant and belligerent. During the financial meltdown I remember reading about his wife Kathleen who continued to shop for super expensive Hermes bags which cost $8000 upwards and even asked the sales associate to place the bag in plain shopper so as to not attract any attention though she got caught out.

I agree that Donald is horrendous but I'm gonna go ahead and defend his wife. I read an interview with her a few years ago and she's pretty funny. For one, she styles their son's hair like Donald's which I think is hilarious. And, someone asked her if she would be with Donald if he weren't rich. Her response was "well, that's a dumb question. Ask him if he would be with me if I weren't beautiful." I laughed pretty hard at that. And, I've liked her ever since.

Just aim to be the runner-up, @hhusted! The winner is stuck working for The Donald at a decent but not great salary, while the runner-up gets a bunch of positive publicity (which will probably lead to the winner getting hired in the future) but no obligations. Although increasingly it seems that the people who go on the show are increasingly actor/media types - the first season was all strictly businesspeople! What do you think @hhusted - or which do you identify as?

I wish I knew the name of the most annoying New Yorker to me... but sadly I don't.. many, many, many years ago.. while driving through Manhattan.. I was stopped at a light.. and out of nowhere, a man comes out, squirts something onto my window and wipes it with a dirty rag, making the window dirtier than it was before.. then held out his hand for a tip.. Um.. yeah, no.. not doing that.. maybe it was mean.. but I would have rather given him money for doing nothing.. but certainly not for making the view WORSE! Of course, when I ignored him, he kicked the car (not terribly hard) and moved to another... So, if I knew his name, I would put it right here. :)

The most annoying people? I'm not going to name any famous people like the above but random people on the street annoy me.
1. Drunk people at night. Please don't think you can direct traffic by simply throwing your body in front of cars who have the right of way. You're not cool and you're putting a lot of putting in danger, not only yourself.
2. Old men who stare and cat call at young women who could be their daughter. Seriously? That's disgusting. I feel bad for you and your family for your behavior.
3. People who walk and then suddenly stop in the middle of the street. What are you doing? You're not the only one on the sidewalk.. please consider that there's millions of people around you in a rush and don't want to dodge their way around you.
Sigh, I hate people. hahaha!

I have this same annoyance with people generally anywhere.. in shopping malls, grocery stores, EVERYWHERE.. they never seem to realize that they aren't the only people in the world.. I *LOVE* when they stop at the bottom or top of an escalator.. because then I get to pussh them out of the way and blame it on the moving stairs.. heh.. but I love the name.. I never had a name for it before. From now on.. these people will be known as sidewalk cows. Thank you.. thank you VERY much. :)

Sidewalk cows can, seriously, take a dirtnap. My tried and true method for them is to power walk and not weave, all the while audibly saying, "New York city, guys, pick a side or get trampled." I just don't understand how there can be so many 80's movies depicting how many people are on the street and how fast they walk; and, yet, there are so many people from Kansas who stand in large groups on the sidewalk and gawk and talk. MOOOOOVE! Some of us are actually using the sidewalk to WALK.
