I was traumatized when I went to the Guggenheim at the tender age of nine or so. The guy behind the Cremaster Cycle (Mr. Bjork - can't recall his name) had an exhibit there, and my godmother, trying to turn me into a cultured young lady, took me...

...it involved a dead rabbit preserved in vaseline.
Never again, chaps...

Ooh, it's almost over! Anyone see the Tim Burton exhibit at the MOMA yet?

Oh, no. A dead rabbit in vaseline. I can see why you were traumatized. Oh, my goodness. I guess I would be to if I saw that.

@ajadeidealist Matthew Barney. I'm no big fan, but at least he's better than Damien Hirst. Hirst has nothing at all to say, whereas Barney only has things to say about his sexual functions. At least the production quality of his films is really high.

Anyways, Matthew Barney or not, there have been quite a lot of shows at the Guggenheim since you were nine, and I bet there were even a few you would have even liked!

@DBlack Totally agree! (MB is lame, but not as lame as DH, and ajadeidealist should give the Guggenheim another chance or two!)

Fair enough, @uraniumfish. I've been back a couple times for film screenings (saw the Fellini showing there a while back), but my tastes tend towards Medieval/Renaissance/Baroque art (& some 19th century) - I'm not an enormous fan of contemporary art (as a vast generalization, clearly)

After reading the description, I am a little lost at what to expect.
