"Great street for young families."
I moved to this location from San Diego, CA and as such this part of the country seems laid back and offers a good dose of southern hospitality and charm. While Florence is definitely a growing city and serves as a hub for the region, it is still a small community at heart with lots of history and heritage.
Magna Carta is part of the Charters Subdivision and is a quiet neighborhood. Magna Carta is the main street down the middle of the neighborhood and so probably sees the most traffic but compared to many places, it is a very quiet street.
The properties are well-kept and maintained for the most part and many have beautiful trees. This makes for a beautiful fall and a green spring and summer. While there is quite a high turnover rate and there seems to be several homes for sale at any given time, the people living here are polite and friendly.
There are quite a few young families and couples living on the street and the neighborhood also has several law enforcement officers, fire and government personnel living in it so it feels like a safe place.
Located in a growing area on the western side of Florence, the neighborhood does not offer access to any public transport so personal transport is necessary in order to get around. But Florence itself offers a very diverse range of shopping and dining options, especially considering its actual population.
There are options for utilities here as well. Gas and electric is available through SCE&G and/or Pee Dee Electric. Television, telecom and internet access are provided through Bell South/AT&T and/or Time Warner and both offer high speed broadband as well as full digital tv through cable or satellite.
All in all, Magna Carta, and the neighborhood of Charters gives a very nice place to call home.
