Ecclectic, Safe, Tons to do, and great cultural diversity (many german fests and references)...swing a little north and east and you're in andersonville, another pocket of great shops, restaurants (some of the best in the city), and the Sweedish hood. Lincoln square has great niche shops, records, games, some clothing. Andersonville has great vintage and furniture.

Lincoln Square is fairly safe and very residential, so it's a nice quiet place for the most part, and there's some great food in the area, especially German food. I recommend it!

Lincoln Square is a pretty eclectic area and it has always had a family-oriented feeling. There has been a lot of growth recently, which has added a younger energy to the neighborhood.
