There are several neighborhoods in Lakewood where you'll find houses priced north of a million dollars. The oldest is probably Applewood, one of my favorite areas of Denver. Located in northwestern Lakewood, tt was built largely in the 1950's and '60, and featured a lot of custom and semi-custom homes in a wide range of prices. As a neighborhood, it has aged very, very well. It has mature landscaping and lots of loooong 1950's ranches. My favorite!!

On the other side of town, there is an "infill" area around Jewell between Wadsworth and Sheridan. Most of Lakewood was built in the 1950's-'70s, but this area remained open field, on or adjacent to the White Fence Farm restaurant. They've put homes there in the past 15 years or so, and there are some BIG houses, including Carmelo Anthony's former in the 6200 West Jewell neighborhood, which was featured on "MTV Cribs."

The newest is Solterra, an "Italian village" type neighborhood on the very west edge of Lakewood near Red Rocks Amphitheater. Like the others, it has a pretty wide selection of homes in a wide variety of price ranges, with the upper end topping out just over 1.5 million.
