Does the Kips Bay neighborhood in New York City have alot of crime compared to the rest of New York City?

I've never known Kip's Bay to be dangerous. But, there's not a lot to do in the way of bars and restaurants in the neighborhood which means there aren't as many people out at night. Whenever no one is on the street, that's when it's easier to commit a crime. So, that would be the only problem with the neighborhood that I can foresee.
