Hyde Park has been designated a District In Need of Improvement for English Language Arts, so the district has not been meeting state standards. Students in grades 3-8 are tested. Passing rates are pretty low, with only approximately half the students earning Levels 3 or 4 (3=at grade level, 4=above grade level). Math scores are marginally better, at least they are good enough to keep the district off the state's warning list for math. In high school, 88% of students passed the English Regents, which is better than you might expect considering the weakness at the elementary and middle level. There are multiple Regents in math, and passing rates vary but aren't great.
