Hunter's Point has calmed down a lot in the last few years, but it is still probably the most dangerous part of San Francisco with probably the worst murder rate--even worse than the infamous Tenderloin. There are things to do in the area and there is talk of the renovations to come, but there has been this talk for over a decade.
Not really a neighborhood people intentionally go into for the most part.
