Helen Avenue and the surrounding streets in Coventry is a great place to find an affordable starter home. Within walking distance (less than a mile) is a major grocery store, two parks, elementary school, a pond, an ice cream stand, and a couple of restaurants. The area is fairly clean and quiet, even though the houses are close together. Lawns are well kept and neighbors are generally friendly, though this is New England so you'll have to make the effort to meet them.
