Harlem New York

I'm going to New York In October and I'll probably stay at Harlem. I don't know the precise street, only the area where the apartment is located. I can see that is near the "Apollo Theater", "Columbia University", "Studio Museum Harlem". Does anybody now if this is a good place to stay or if it's dangerous and it's better to look for another place to stay?
