If you have a great paying job but are a hipster at heart, the Haight Ashbury neighborhood can be a really great neigbhorhood for being single. Lots of bars, cool people and restuarants. It has become more than a little commercialized but there are still a lot of funky record stores where you can buy cool vinyl records and go to off-beat ethnic restaurants where you can have a good date.
Definitely worth it if you have the money.
