"The Infamous Austin "Drag""
Guadalupe is the main lifeline of the University of Texas at Austin. You'll find lots of awesome restaurants like Madam Mam's Noodle House, Kerbey Lane, and a dozen other places too numerous to be listed. Fun vintage clothing stores abound, as do eclectic shops like Toy Joy. Colorful, exciting, but also home to huge museums like the Ransom Center and the Bob Bulluck history museum. Not the safest street but, as a women, I have walked out alone at night. Good luck trying to find parking during school hours. A must see for tourists.

"Big city street, college town vibe"
No trip to Austin is complete without a trip to "The Drag" - Guadalupe Street on the west site of the UT campus. There are lots of shops and little restaurants to check out, as well as some great people-watching as college students stroll by. Stop by the UT Co-op to deck yourself out in burnt orange and head over to Madam Mam's for some tasty (and cheap) pad thai.

"Good street for strolling and people watching"
Guadalupe by the University is a good street for a long walk, surrounded by college students. It has an interesting mix of local & chain eateries and small boutiques that are fun to browse, not to mention the formidable Church of Scientology headquarters. The huge wide sidewalk unfortunately doesn't provide much shade, so make sure you are well watered for the Texas heat.

"Must-see Street in Austin"
Anyone visiting Austin should definitely check out Guadalupe. This street runs alongside the University of Texas and is known as "the Drag." Long full of quirky local shops, these have largely been pushed out by the ever expanding University Co-op (great if you're looking for UT gear) and chain restaurants. However, it is still a bustling area worth visiting, and if you're willing to drive a few blocks, you can find some of the best shops in town. Toy Joy, the greatest toy shop in the state, is on Guadalupe, and across the street you can find local favorite video store I <3 Video. Regardless of its commercialization, still a must visit.

"The spirit of Austin"
Guadalupe is home to the famous "drag" located in front of The University of Texas. It's a street brimming with life, and busy with the hustle and bustle of students. There's the Co-op where you can buy your books, there's a renaissance market that sells jewelry and art, and there's plenty of eateries and coffee shops. The only drawback is the large homeless population begging for money, but I can't really blame them for trying to make a living.
