Moving from NY, 30 yr old financial service professional - best neighborhood?

what's the best neighborhood that's close to public transportation and affordable rent/ town house? Will be commuting to downtown Philly market street for work.

I would recommend either Graduate Hospital, Queen Village or Center City along Pine or Spruce Street. Obviously, the farther you get away from Center City, the more affordable the rent will be.. but, if you get too far outside Center City, the transportation options are not as appealing.

Other options include Fairmount and places outside the city like East Falls and Conshohocken. It's easy to grab the regional rail Septa train in these locations to get into the city (right at Market Street) in under 30 minutes.
